Traditions

Queen's College Boys' Primary school has been an independent institution for the past 51 years. It is separate, but shares the uniform, the spirit and the wonderful traditions of which Queen's college itself is so justifiably proud. The academic standards are high and are reinforced by the dedication of the staff that is totally committed to the boys and the school.

The traditions are founded on the sport and cultural opportunities that abound. But the emphasis is placed on character-building. Queenians never give up and this can be seen as they compete against their rival traditional schools, like Dale and Selborne. Each boy is regarded as a unique blend of talents and virtues which we strive to develop and enhance. Discipline, courtesy and loyalty are the order of the day and the boys are taught to live up to the school motto "Esse Quam Videri", - to be rather than seem to be.

Hostel life, supporting the College at derby rugby matches, taking part in cake league cricket and the playing of break time games i.e. marbles, tops and four-square are just some of the many activities that bond the boys at this traditional boys' primary school.

Teamwork at Queen's Junior helps us overcome the challenges of life.
