Library Society

This society caters for those boys who have a special interest in the library. Membership is limited, but is open to all grades. Regular meetings are held and members who perform weekly duties in the library during breaks and in the afternoon become Library Monitors. The Library Society performs an invaluable service in helping to maintain the smooth running of the Queen's College Library. Duties may include the issuing, receiving and shelving of books; he preparation and care of all library resources, photocopying etc. Library monitors are required to be honest, reliable, thorough and genuinely dedicated to service in the Queen's College Library.

CRITERIA FOR AWARDS

Scroll

• A monitor must attend meetings regularly
• Perform his duties reliably and effectively (80% attendance)
• He is eligible for a scroll after being an active member of the society for at least One full year.

Half Colours

• Note:Only boys in Grade 10 – 12
• A boy must have been a monitor for at least two years and have been the recipient of two
  Scroll awards
• He must have a thorough working knowledge of all the necessary aspects of Library practice
• 80% attendance is required
