Having played a full role in the 1983 celebrations commemorating 125 years of Queen's College, the QCOBA gave its attention to improving, where it possibly could, its finances and therefore its contribution to the welfare of the school.
For a number of years the association ran a highly profitable Bonanza Action Fund Raising project in order to benefit ‘the boys in the desks of Queen's College', as National President Ian Dyer put it.
