Brass Band
The Brass Band has established a proud tradition at Queen's. The Band usually comprises 15-35 members, featuring such instruments as trumpets, cornets, trombones, saxophones, euphoniums, side-drums and tenor drums. it fulfills a very important function at the school, performing at Cadet parades, musical concerts, school functions and civic functions. Auditions are held annually.
CRITERIA FOR AWARDS

- Attendance 80% (lessons and/or practices)
- Perform at all performances.
Half Colours
- Member for 2 years
- Attendance 80%
- Perform at all performances
- ‘A’ at Eisteddfod (performing as part of the band)ORpass an Exam Grade 3 with 70% +.ANDa performance, which on the recommendation of a qualified music teacher is of equivalent standard.
Colours
- Member for 3 years
- Attendance 90%
- Perform at all performances
- Two ‘A+’s at an Eisteddfod – one performance as an individual and one performance with a band OR pass Grade 4 with 75% OR more and a performance which on the commendation of a
qualified music teacher is of equivalent standard.
- Must be of Provincial standard.
Honours
- Member for 3 years
- Attendance 90%
- Perform at all performances
- Two Platinum awards at an Eisteddfod - one performance as an individual and one performance with a band / OR pass Grade 5 with 75% OR more and a performance which on the recommendation of a qualified music teacher is of equivalent standard.
