Debating Society and Public Speaking

The society is a vibrant space that encourages critical thinking and the presentation of ideas in front of a crowd. Meetings are held weekly to teach oratory skills and look at current events affecting us on a local and global scale. The first team debaters compete at derby days in local and provincial leagues and many learners eventually break to national level. The school competes in three different styles of debating (Model UN, Science Debates and World Schools' Style) during the year to build our confidence at various public speaking events. All learners who wish to be able to present themselves, whether in the boardroom or post match sport discussions are welcome.
