Fist Aid Society
This Society has proved to be one of the most active societies at the school. Training is given on a weekly basis by qualified instructors. The society plays an important role in providing First Aid facilities at all major school sports events, giving members valuable experience. It is a useful life skill.
CRITERIA FOR AWARDS
Must be an active member of the society. Points will be awarded as follows for duty during the year:
- Saturday full day (3 points)
- Saturday half day (2 points)
- Friday half day (1 point)
- Weekday half day (1 point)
- Preparing of equipment (1 point)
- (with a maximum of 5 points in the year)

- 85% attendance of the training
- Must score a minimum of 10 points based on the above criteria.
Half Colours
- Only boys in Grades 9 – 12 are eligible for this award
- Must be an active member
- 85% attendance of the training
- Must score a minimum of 15 points based on the above criteria
- Must pass the recognised exam with 80%
- Must be a leader on the field (take charge)
- Evaluation will be done on a regular basis, eg. Ability to cope under pressure and initiative.
Colours
- Must be an active member for a minimum of 3 years
- 100% attendance of the training
- Must score a minimum of 25 points based on the above criteria
- Must have qualified in a recognised First Aid course: Level 3 or higher with a minimum percentage of 90%
- Must be a leader on the field (take charge)
- Evaluation will be done on a regular basis, eg. Ability to cope under pressure and initiative.
Honours
- Must have been an active member of the society since his Grade 8 year.
- 100% attendance of the training
- Must score a minimum of 30 points based on the above criteria
- Must have qualified in a recognised First Aid course: Level 3 or higher with a minimum percentage of 90%
- Must be a leader on the field (take charge)
- Evaluation will be done on a regular basis, eg. Ability to cope under pressure and initiative
- Must have been involved in Development and Outreach projects. His award is made on the recommendation of the teacher-in-charge.
