Golf

Golf was recognised as an official sport in 1986 under the leadership of Mr. Bernard Roos. Golf was played as an unofficial sport for many years. Fixtures were played against Dale, Selborne and Stirling. Boys took part in the South African Golf Federation Inter-schools competition.

In recent years the number of inter-school fixtures has increased and we play our fixtures in Queenstown, Stutterheim, East London and the odd match in Port Elizabeth.

Equipment and Facilities

Players must be affiliated to SAGA and have an official handicap to represent the school. Players are encouraged to join the Queenstown Golf Club in order to make use of their practice facilities. The school does not provide equipment, nor does it pay for practicing at the club. A small driving range is available on our fields, this may be used after official sport practice times. Practice times are not set as many boys play more than one sport but the keen golfers are out on the course every day.

Honours

The standard for Colours and Honours are high and players have to perform extremely well to qualify for Border and National competitions.
