Queen’s College has a very proud history and hockey is a sport that is excelling at an exponential rate. Over the past decade we have had the privilege of developing a number of talented hockey players and most recently a large number of South African Schools’ players in the under 16 and under 18 age groups.
The year 2012 saw Le-Neal Jackson, Kirwin Christoffels and Ububele Kopo achieve National Colours at the under 18 Tournament. Kirwin was named the best midfield player of this tournament. This achievement saw Kirwin being invited to attend a National Camp as an up and coming star for the future. 2012 - Jonathan Cloete was selected for the National under 16 team. 2013 - Winray Christoffels was selected for the National U16 Team.
The hockey teams attend a number of festivals each year. The under 14 team attends the Rob Taylor Festival which is hosted by Selborne College in East London. The under 16 team attend the Rondebosch Festival. The first team attend the Rondebosch under 18 Festival.
These opportunities are crucial for the continued success of the sport at Queen’s College and we will continue to attend such prestigious events in the future.
