Date: Thursday 19 April 2018
Time: 10:45 for 11:00 walk start; enter the Rec at 12:30
Location: Meet at Sunnyside in the Game Reserve; finish at the Wilkinson Field followed by a procession into the Rec
Route: 6 km from Sunnyside up Longhill to Jan Smuts - Emerald Avenue - College Avenue; mostly gravel pathway
The Walk Fundraiser keeps on growing to include more schools. This is our seventh year and we hope to see students, teachers and parents from the same schools that walked in 2017: Queen's College Primary and High Schools, Balmoral, GHS, Get Ahead, Mini-Minors, Southbourne, Hangklip Laerskool, and Stepping Stone.
How to participate
Decide which school you would like to support and contact them directly. Or just bring your donation and be there ready to walk on 19 April.
Don't forget sunblock, comfortable shoes, a hat, water, personal needs (e.g. bee sting or asthma medication) and clothes or flags to show what school you support.
If you are not keen to walk but want to encourage those who do, you can come to the Rec at 12:30 to cheer in the Walkers. You may also make a donation to your chosen school even if you don't walk.
