Admission Policy
- Proficiency in English is essential because all subjects, except second languages (Xhosa/Afrikaans), are taught in English.
- Applicants must receive a minimum of 50% for both English and Mathematics in the June Examinations.
- Applicants from outside South Africa must be in possession of the necessary study permits
Steps to follow to apply for your son to be admitted
- Send an email to headmaster@queenscollege.co.zaor contact the school on 045 839 4188 and ask for an Enquiry Form.
- Complete the Enquiry Form and return it to headmaster@queenscollege.co.zaor 086 645 3257 and you will receive an Information Pack.
- Return the completed Information Pack to headmaster@queenscollege.co.zaor 086 645 3257
- You will be invited to attend and interview should your application meet our entrance criteria.
- Further information will be provided at the interview.
Documents required by Queen's College
- Copy of your son's birth certificate (which must display the ID number), or other identity document (the Dept of Education requires the identity number in order for your son to write exams)
- Copy of the most recent report from your son's school (Can be first term report 2011)
- A testimonial reference from your son's present school
- 4 x ID size photographs of your son (may be colour or black and white)
- Copies of both parents ID documents.
- Copy of the ID of the person responsible for paying the school fees (if not the parents).
- Copy of both parents latest pay sheets. Should you be self-employed, we require a letter from your accountant, or a copy of your latest bank statement(s).
- Copy of the latest pay sheet of the person responsible for paying the school fees (if not the parents).
- A letter from both parents employers confirming your employment and reflecting your employer's contact details, address etc.
- Copy of your latest municipal account which reflects your residential address as well as proof of your postal address if this differs from your residential address. If you do not have proof of your addresses, we require an affidavit from you regarding your residential and postal addresses.
- Copy of front and back of Medical Aid card (if applicable)
- R50 in respect of disbursements incurred (payable at interview)
PLEASE NOTE that all documents must be handed in /posted to the school prior to an interview being arranged.
Fees for 2012
- Deposit: R1 000
- School fees: R21 000 per annum
- Boarding fees: R28 960 000 per annum
- Total school and boarding fees: R49 960 per annum
The above fee includes all school photographs, transport costs (including a school tour subsidy), scholar's accident insurance (to a maximum of R20 000 per annum), a copy of the Queen's Quire (Queen's College's annual magazine) and all extra academic subjects ie: art, computers etc.
